On June 17, 2024, at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, a conference titled “Waves of Support: Bringing Help to Others” marked the official launch of the Blue Mental Health Box project.
The event focused on the mental health of young people, addressing critical issues such as loneliness, online hate, and cyberbullying. Discussions also explored how schools can become kinder, more empathetic places through peer support and everyday acts of kindness.
The conference was organized by the Mazowieckie Youth Assembly under the honorary patronage of the Marshal’s Office of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship.
We had the privilege of hosting numerous distinguished guests and speakers, whose dedication and advocacy underscored how vital youth mental health is to them. Among the attendees were:
Monika Wielichowska – Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland
Paulina Piechna-Więckiewicz – Deputy Minister of National Education
Wioletta Krzyżanowska – Mazowieckie School Superintendent
Ludwik Rakowski – Chairman of the Mazowieckie Regional Assembly
Anna Brzezińska – Member of the Board of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship
Weronika Snoch – Representative of the Office of the Ombudsman for Children
Joanna Głażewska – Director of the Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health
Agnieszka Gonczaryk – Director of the Department of Health and Social Policy
The inauguration also brought together representatives of foundations working in the areas of mental health, peer support, and youth empowerment:

Wiktoria Kinik – Empowering Children Foundation (Fundacja Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę)
The event was hosted by Marcelina Maciąg, Chair of the Mazowieckie Youth Assembly (2nd term), and Sara Michalska, Director of the Department of Organizational Affairs.
During the inauguration, honorary guests, foundation representatives, and schools signed a Declaration of Support for the mental health of children and young people, pledging to continue efforts that promote empathy, peer support, and access to professional help.
Declaration of Support – “Waves of Support: Bringing Help to Others”
We, the undersigned, commit to supporting the mental health of children and youth by promoting empathy and mutual support, collaborating with school communities, raising awareness of mental well-being, taking action to improve access to psychological care, and protecting the anonymity of those seeking help.
We believe that together we can create spaces where every young person feels safe to speak up and receive the help they need.
By signing this declaration, we pledge to actively support initiatives like the “Blue Mental Health Box” and to advocate for mental health as a shared social priority.
In the first two weeks after the project’s launch, 106 schools and organizations from 10 voivodeships signed up to join the initiative — ensuring access to the Blue Mental Health Box for more than 58,000 young people.
